Welcome to BYC. What are you looking for in a chicken, a good layer, table bird, pet, or an all purpose breed?

Good luck with your incubation projects! You can stop by our Buy Sell and Trade section and look through our egg sellers. You will need 20 posts to participate in this section...https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/67/buy-sell-trade

If you run into any issues with your incubation process, feel free to ask one of us here.

I'm glad you joined us.

Some good breeds for your daughter would probably be Wyandottes, Australorps, Orpingtons, Sussex, and Ameraucanas. All of those breeds should be good layers and also usually have very good temperaments. Silkies and Cochins aren't great egg layers, but make excellent pets, especially for children.

I would definitely check out the Buy-Sell-Trade section to find some hatching eggs for sale.
