Hello good chicken people!

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

We have many articles here that may be helpful to you: Hatching Eggs & Raising Chicks.

Otherwise, incubating actually is pretty straightforward.

You'll need a hygrometer/thermometer to verify the settings of your incubator. I have four incubators, and not one is spot on.

Temp throughout the hatching: 99.5°F
Humidity days 1-18: around 50%

Candle around Day 7 to remove any that were unfertilized or experienced early deaths.

Candle at lockdown (Day 18). Stop the rotation.
Days 18 - hatch: 70% humidity

Chicks can take up to 24 hours to hatch after pipping, so don't intercede; they're resting.

Leave chicks in the incubator after hatching until they are walking around and fluffy.

We have a forum where you can ask questions if you have any: Incubating and Hatching Eggs

Every chick, chicken, and duck here gets all-flock, specifically, Kalmbach's Flock Maker crumbles. $26 for 50#. That makes it simple. :) Hens get a side dish of oyster shell for stronger eggs as the all-flock is lower calcium.

Congrats on your anniversary! We're glad you're here!

Thanks for that quick intro! I'll definitely be referring back to it tomorrow as I get the incubator set up!
