I've consulted this forum many times when ever I've had an issue with our flock and I finally joined! As my name says, I really love Silkies, they are my favorites. I have two. My black roo King Silkie (who is ill at the moment) and then Girl who is my very white, very fluffy hen! They are both 5 years, we raised them as chicks and they (normally) are very social and friendly!

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us.

If you check out the Learning Centre, you'll find a whole host of resources on all things chicken - even if you are an experience chicken keeper.

Your state thread is worth joining as you will get to know other BYC members in your area (https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread). In fact, the search box should become your best friend

Lastly but by no means least, the members here are amazing - very friendly and helpful, so if you need an answer to a question or simply want some reassurance that what you are doing is ok, then post away - we all help each other out here at BYC.

All the best

Welcome to BYC. You can post in full detail about your sick roo at "emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread. Hope he will be okay.

I already did actually. He's doing much better tonight! Still wobbly but foraging for the scratch grain I spread around! And he drank some water I gave him, no syringe needed. \o/

Thank you so much!
