Heyyyah! I’m Leah Renee!:D

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I’m an expectant Chickie Mama. Due the week of April 2nd.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
No chickies. We just bought our Homestead and chicken owning was #1 on my list! (My Grandpa was a farmer.)
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have 4 breeds coming: Buff Orpingtons, Black Australorps, Barred Plymouths, and Easter Eggers.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Searching chicken questions on Google.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Plants, cooking/baking, watercolor, card making, crafty-stuffs

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have 3 kiddos 6 and under. We just bought 17 acres in the country and have allllltheplans to cultivate a more self-sufficient life including eggs, meat, dairy, beekeeping, canning/preservation! Living our dream!:love

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

BYC has a Learning Centre and also Topic of the Week articles which I have found to be a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group. A few which might be of interest to you at this stage are below but there are many more on feeding, housing, kitting out the coop etc.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock when they arrive, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
