Suppose I should introduce myself as I've been lurking for a bit.

I'm looking into the idea of getting several laying hens and possible a few grouse in the future. My setup now is not ideal for chickens but we will likely be moving within a year or two so I'm trying to start researching now as I have virtually no experience with birds...my family had several RIRs when I was very young, but my focus was on other animals (namely rabbits and horses...more recently and deeply, dogs).

I have already learned more than I ever expected from this forum and site (the articles are wonderful!), and am very grateful for all the knowledge that is made available here...I think I am at the stage where everything I learn answers one question, but poses a dozen more!
