I am brand new at having chickens. I got my flock on Valentines days. I know so romantic right. My husband was not thrilled, really you want to spend your day building a coop and getting chickens? But believe me I was so excited! So it’s been about 2 weeks. We have 8 hens, 4 are 2 years old they are red sexlink, 2 are 11 months old one is an americuana and the other is black and white and 2 I’m unsure of.

I’m a hair stylist, and I like to make things and paint. I have 6 children and 2 dogs. We live in a suburban neighborhood.

Enjoy those chickens and welcome to byc! Your husband will come around. My wife, who is from the city, hated the idea of chickens but now they follow her around and she feeds them. Maybe she wishes I didn't have 75 of them but she still likes them and she loves the fresh eggs. Also, she loved helping build the coop! Bonding time for the family.
