I live in N.E. Washington. I bought a home and two chickens came with the house. I know nothing other than they are brown and super sweet. I moved here in June of this year. Since then I have fell in LOVE with chickens. I also have 2 Roosters, a very young and an older one. I just added 6 new pulleys to my flock and so far they are all doing well together. My other hobbies are my horses, gardening, and just loving farm living. One of my biggest enjoyments since I moved here is sitting outside on my rocking furniture watching my chickens scratch and wander around...so relaxing. The main reason I joined this forum is to learn how to spot illness, treat it and talk to some of you experts on what to do when they are not feeling so well. Thank you for letting me join...looking forward to all I can learn from everyone.

G'Day from down under 1hotchick-a-dee :frowWelcome and Congratulations! :clap

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out. There is a section on Emergencies/Diseases Etc and topics include First Aid Preparedness, Maintaining a Healthy Flock etc

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock and/or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.
