Hello! I got a house Bantam 🥰

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

You may not agree with some of the comments, but most if not all of us own chickens and try to help others with there's. A lot of it is because we've "been there, done that," so we know what will work better.

In the end, to each their own. It's your chicken, and she's adorable! ❤️

I've never heard/seen a house chicken before, but she is adorable and looks happy!

If you ever want to start a thread about bocboc you can post here! I'm sure loads of people would love to hear about it!

Its good to know your planning on getting her a friend, but it sounds like shes happy at the moment with just you as her ‘chicken’ friend!

Even in the coldish, chickens with feathers don’t need heat, so she should be fine without it. Definitely get her a friend as soon as possible, sounds like she is lonely.
I don't think her feathers are fully in. Iv been helping her break up the pin feathers all around her head and neck. I spent a lot of time yesterday with her and her next looks better, but she's still not as fluffy as she could be. And she seems to prefer warmer spots. I said she's 8 weeks but that's a guess she could be as young as 6 weeks.
I put a mirror beside her tank for now, but I absolutely will be getting her a friend as soon as I can. She doesn't even want to be in her tank. Only with me, not even perched near me, but cuddled as close to me as she can get. I don't want to be pooped on, so I try and get her her own spot with a blanket on top of her back. She will stay there all night with me. I did wake up with her in my neck though and a pile of poops, so laundry tonight and a shower this morning was required. I'll be making her a diaper soon for bedtime it I can't get her to enjoy her tank on her own

Chickens are fully feathered at 6 weeks old. She is fully feathered based on the photos you provided.
She doesn't want to be in the tank because she is lonely. Chickens are flock animals and are hardwired to seek out and live within a flock. That is the only way she can feel safe and secure and ultimately happy. If you cannot be with her 24/7, she needs a flock mate.
Is there some reason you will not build her a coop outdoors in which to live? She would be happiest in a flock of chickens (even just 3 birds total) outside in the fresh air where she can sunbathe, dust bathe and scratch around in the grass and forage.

This is what she said regarding similar questions to yours:

In a few months when I can afford it, I'll buy her a buddy. But I need to upgrade her cage before I get her a friend.
I live in a 3 story apartment building. Eventually when I move and get a backyard I plan on building a coop.
