Hello ! I have been adopted by a rooster .... Updated 1/15 with pictures

As best I can tell, he is all black. not very big, maybe young? Do they hold thier tails up when they are walking around, or down? his is straight out

Thanks for the warm welcome and help. Still can't believe I have been adopted by a Rooster. At least with the rain and sleet coming he has a decent place to sleep. and food. heck - it's all good!

I think it was fate. You probably didn't realized how much you wanted a rooster, till he showed up. Okay just kidding. But since he is sociable he could end up being a great pet for you. If you ever get him some hens, he'll be even happier. I am guessing he scared your cats out of the dog house. Maybe he used to live with cats and knows all about them. Hope you get to post a photo of him - I think we are all curious about what breed he is.

Thanks so much everyone! Really glad I found this site, tons of good info here.
Elvis came out last night to say hello, and ate from the plate I was holding. He is bigger than I thought, and has sort of a bronze edge to his feathers. It was dark by the time I got home but I will get a picture up soon. I would like to know what he is too! He was not in the dog house this am, pretty much standing right where I left him last night. Hope he was warm enough.
Get him hens??? oh my goodness! I am all for fresh eggs, and had talked to a friend of mine about putting up a coop in my yard. But for eggs, not babies!! I have allot of learning to do on this critter!
