Hello I was wondering how i can pinoend my adult mandarins and adults scaups?

You don't want to freerange your mandrians. .....they will be sitting ducks for hawks etc.....litteraly. if you pinion them even more so.... And if you don't know how to do it correctly they can bleed to death. Also some states may not allow it so check with your state.

i dont want them to fly away when i let them out so i would like to pinoend them and i dont know how

Pinioning adult birds is something should not be done at home without a veterinarian preforming the procedure or someone without training and proper tools, it is not something done easily for adults. Alternative can be wing trimming (cutting the flight feathers of one wing to make the bird off-balance, does not require any removal of flesh), but requires frequent capture and in some cases, may not work.

If your adults are full flighted, best to keep them in a covered aviary. If you want free-ranging waterfowl and have an area that you can keep them safe (or mostly safe) from predators, start with birds that were pinioned as babies.

Tendon clipping is another alternative but should be done by a vet or someone with experience, this doesn't involve removing any of the wing just cutting one tendon so the wing will not open all the way. We used to have a pair of Trumpeter Swans that had been tendon clipped.
