(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

Today I picked up my first chicks! There are 5 of them and I'm so excited to finally be realizing my dreams of raising chickens!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I'm starting with 5 chicks. We're finishing up building the coop and if all goes well we'll be getting up to 3 more in the coming years.

(3) What breeds do you have?

I have 1 Black Sex Link, 2 Golden Laced Wyandottes and 2 Americaunas (though I am pretty positive they're actually just Easter Eggers and not true Americaunas)

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

I've done a lot of research about raising chickens in an urban homestead environment and have found myself at the BYC site numerous times throughout my research!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I am a mother to a 6 month old (first time mom) so right now my only other hobby is to keep him out of trouble and keep things out of his mouth!

Glad you joined us! You've picked some really lovely breeds. Many "Ameraucanas" are indeed EE's, but still lovely hens and those wonderful eggs! Enjoy your new venture!
