Hello, I'm a mad scientist :)

hi and welcome to BYC were eggcited and eggcentric is the normal lol
That is such a relief lol

I absolutely love this video and the fact that you made it. So great!

:frowHi and welcome to the flock! Can't wait to see pics of the chickens babysitting the quail, and of the Collie herding the birds. Haha, she's a bird herder! My Sheltie knows she is supposed to do SOMETHING with the chickens but mostly she just runs wildly around them barking her fool head off and they either ignore her or flap about stupidly while I holler uselessly. It's a circus but nobody gets hurt. Even though I keep threatening to turn Gracie into soup. :barnie
I'll definitely be taking videos once the process is less experimental, lol. She also herds guinea pigs and rabbits.

Welcome! Wow, you had to have eggs shipped from Newfoundland? That's a long way! Special breed of chickens? It sounds like you have a fun time in life. I know you will enjoy this forum; there are lots of good and learned people here.
They didn't need to come from so far away, I just saw a good deal on an auction site, plus I'm curious to see how they do after such a long journey and I have less angst finding out with the d'uccles because they're uncommon enough to justify ordering them versus purchasing them locally, but they're not so uncommon/expensive that I'm stressing about the hatch rate. Anyway, I usually have convoluted reasons for my decisions and it's usually partially out of curiosity and also definitely because it's fun. For instance, I definitely didn't find out that collies can herd guinea pigs for practical reasons :woot
