Hello everyone,
I'm a newbie i got my baby bantams one week ago i got 2 Silkies and 1 Frizzle that i got from local country market I'm in Australia. I'm unsure on the sex of them yet I'm hoping for no roo's as i will be unable to keep a Roo. They are so beautiful and sweet I'm so far enjoying my bantam experience. I found this page as i was looking for info on correct care for bantams BackYard Chickens is great and has taught me so much and helped my confidence in caring for my baby chicks.

I'm from Queensland Australia, i've growen up on a farm so i love my animals and they are family to me.

I'm looking forward to using this page it seems so friendly and informational.
Thankyou :)

I couldn't help but reply to your thread .. I am fairly new to chickens (a year or so) and up until recently had 3 bantams, sadly one passed away from internal laying. I have a bantam Black Cochin and a Bantam Langshan and also live in Queensland. Cilla, my Black Cochin became broody so I bought her 5 fertile bantam Silkie eggs and we now have 5 x 4 week old Silkie babies! My first time with chicks and Silkies.

BYC has been a tremendous help for me also and I find myself daily searching through the forums for tips and hints.
No matter how bad my day, when I get home my girls always manage to make me smile .. they are adorable!

Thankyou for your welcomes, I'm enjoying this page a lot

Hi Teila
It's nice to hear from someone in Queensland, I'm sorry to hear about your bantam. but awww how adorable new baby chicks it's been an experience I'm loving it they are just to sweet they bring a smile to my day :). I'm thinking of adding another 2 while they are still young I'm suspicious that i might have one Roo the little frizzle Dora hmm Dora may not be a Dora :( but i'm just not 100% yet.

And this page has been so helpful i agree with that, any questions I've had BYC has the answers.

Thankyou for your lovely welcome :)

thank you that's great that you have an Australian thread BYC you have it all, love your work :)
