Hello and welcome to BYC! You've come to a great site with lots of information and loads of helpful people. So sorry to hear you can't have chickens because you're zoned for residential. Any chance you could move???

Theres always House Chickens. Lots of folks keep them indoors!! There are such things as chicken diapers.

Also Quail can be raised inside. They seem like a lot of fun too

Oooh yes Quail! I used to keep quail, they are a blast! Get some Coturnix, super easy birds to keep!

Oh wow! I wouldn't think to have them indoors. I've heard of dog diapers for when they are in heat, but I've never heard of chicken diapers. Thanks for the info.

We are thinking about it. We do own our house, but it is currently not in our best interest to move. But we do have to downsize eventually now that our 5 kids are gone and on their own. When we do, it will be in an agriculturally zoned area.
