(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I was 10 when I got my first three sebright bantams. I had no clue how to care for them, unfortunately, and learned when I turned about 13 or so. By that points, I had gotten three silkies, and one was a rooster. He was very rude, and always chased me. But anyways, I'm older now, and I did chicken math for the first time this year. I started with like four marans this year and right now I have seven ducks, and numerous chickens (I just hatched a clutch of about a dozen or so in my incubator.)
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
No freakin clue lol.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Mystic marans, Ayam cemani, Sebright, Buff Orpingtons, Turkens, Black diamonds, Silkies, RIRs, ISA Browns, Plymouth barred rocks, OEGBs, Leghorn (Brown and white), Amberlinks, Mille fluer D'uccles, Mille fluer booted bantams, Bantam crosses, Prairie bluebell eggers, Starlight green eggers, and many more.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Breeding them! I love crossing breeds and seeing what I get.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Art of many mediums. That's all I really have time for at this point.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My family is huge but I rarely interact with them, as I am pretty busy. I live with my father, but he's hardly home. I have somewhere around 150 exotic pets, excluding my chooks of course.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have been lurking this website for advice and such for years now actually, but finally decided to make the plunge and make an account.
