Hello! I'm here for the hen party!

I'm a lil nervous. I grabbed clean dirt and sifted the big chunks out with a colander, added dry, washed-river sand from the run and sprinkled a little hickory wood ash on the pile and stirred. The chicks love it, only 1 knew to waller in it. The rest ate it. I sprinkled a little on their backs then I removed the pan after 3 mins or so. Too much too early?

For now, anything you put on the floor is considered food. Don't let them gorge on it though. In a few weeks they will definitely be looking to dust bath and will give it a go. Cute babies! 💗

Its fine. They will peck at it but its new and they will learn to dust bathe soon enough.

I made a chicken tractor! I used the PawGiant 130"×40"×40" coop and reinforced it with 1x's, 1x4's and hardware cloth. And a blue million zip-ties. I installed (4) 8" wheels on it to make it mobile. I have to remove the wheels to make it sit flat. It's sort of heavy but that's ok. The 9 o'Flock is as "free range" as they're going to get for awhile. This "City Home" is in the front yard. Their permanent, "Country Home" is in the backyard. I will put them in the country in the evenings after my pet sitting clients (dogs) go home. Glad I have that cedar tree for shade.
