She's a beauty!
I can't blame you for giving away your heart!
Well. An update since it's been awhile.
I bought a Swedish Flower Hen for my flock to keep it at 9 layers after my Fibro EE turned out to be a cockerel. It's the 9o'Flock after all!
It's been a challenge - to say the least! - getting her (named Penny Lane) integrated into the flock. I thought the 8 would kill her for sure. So did she!
After all that nonsense I've changed the name of my flock to Penny Lane and the Hateful 8. Much more accurate!
The Girls all pretty much tolerate each other now that I've added a 10' x 18' yard and 2nd coop and feed/water station. Penny Lane is content to sleep in her own little coop in the yard and the Hateful 8 have the big coop for themselves.
2 of the flock have begun to lay eggs: A Plymouth Rock named Spirit and a Welsummer named Nutmeg. The other 7 are still growing combs and wattles or the ones they have aren't red enough yet to indicate they are mature enough to lay.
So that's what's happening with my backyard chicken project! Happy New Year y'all!

Oh. And I got a cat from a local rescue organization. His name is Ernie and he's a Bengal/Tabby mix. He is marvelous!
