Yes. Chickens need a certain number of daylight hours in order to lay eggs so the fewer daylight hours as we head into winter, means fewer eggs. This is also a natural time for their bodies to go through molting; you may notice an excessive amount of feathers in and around the coop because they're growing new feathers in. They don't usually lay when they're molting.
