(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I'm not necessarily new, but I'm not a super experienced chicken owner. I love learning new things to improve my ladies' lives, though!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Six girls, but I will be getting our first cockerel and a seventh pullet this week.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Three Barred Rocks, and three Cuckoo Marans, but will hopefully be getting an EE roo!
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I think my favorite part about having chickens is that they're like my little band of children that follow me around. I love how they're pets with so much personality.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy writing and painting!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I live on a farm with two dogs, three cats, two horses, one pony, six chickens, and a betta fish!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I discovered it while looking for answers to chicken questions, and I found the threads and decided to join!
