Hello!!! I'm new to poultry farming.

G’Day from down under Azizi :frow Welcome!

Great Introduction, thank you and best wishes for your journey.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to check out the Coop & Run Forum and the Learning Centre.

Personally, I have found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock when they arrive, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Hello Azizi. Glad you decided to join BYC. :welcome Looking forward to hearing about your progress.

Thank you very much everyone for the warm greet and welcome. I will do my best in doing this farming and I will gladly share my updates in the future and also learn many things from all of you.

I’m afraid I can’t really help you too much as I’ve never kept turkeys and I have no experience with meat birds, however I’ve heard Cornish crosses are good for meat. Maybe buckeyes?

Wow I think I need to study those breeds but isn't buckeyes are very rare?

:welcome

Hi Zul, it's nice to have you here! Since your relatives have some poultry, maybe you could get a few from them in exchange for work? That might be a way to get started.

Best of luck to you and thank you for joining us!

Well unfortunately my relatives are across state and country (like USA Border with Mexico). The customs laws of bringing poultry into my country is really strict. Plus they're breeding Serama breeds which you know.....small...very small and mostly my relatives sold them to cockfighting enthusiast (which I'm against :he) and for show competition people. Strange enough Serama chicken that is smallest (under 500 gram) usually fetch towards thousands bucks :eek:but my intention of rearing chicken is just for meat.
