Am new to the whole chicken experience. I was given 2 chicks a week after easter. I bought a few more after that so they would have some friends. All egg laying hens but they where unsure what kind they were. Now they are pullets I have a much better idea what they are. I do believe I have 2 red longhorns, 2 easter eggers, and 4 golden sex links. All happy hens, however, the one leghorn which is much larger then the rest squawks at the crack of dawn. I get up early with them and let them out but she she still does it, now the other leghorn has followed her lead. I'm not too happy with squawking at 6 am. My neighbors are aware that I have hens for eggs and I assured them I did not have a rooster. I don't want to give them a reason to complain or to be angry with me. Please help me! I want to maintain a perfect balance of my go-green life style with not upsetting my neighbors. What is the best possible solution? I don't want the others to follow. Help!!
