Hello, im new

I'm new on this website and I used to have 4 hens. They were a cross between road island red and a light Sussex. I love barnevelders and I hope that I will get lots of information about them on this website!

also i'd love lots of advice about chickens when I need it

That depends on where you are and if you are going for SOP!
Have you checked Facebook for chicken groups near you? Lots of breeders post there. You can join local/regional groups and post your request to them and hopefully someone will know a good nearby breeder.
I'm not sure how to find them but your local 4H folks may also know of nearby breeders.
If you aren't looking for SOP, look on the websites of on-line hatcheries to see what they offer. You might want to wait until the spring to get chicks from a hatchery though.
