My name is Mary Hammond and I live in Weed, in Northern California. I own Weed Flemish Giant Rabbitry and I am the exec director of Show Rabbit Protection Society.
I just joined BYC due to movement of legalising chickens in Yreka and also the subject came up recently at a Weed City Council meeting. And now my husband has decided he wants a flock of buff orpingtons so I am looking for info, trying to decide on show stock or no, etc etc.

If your not going to show or breed then there is no reason to spend the extra money on show stock. but if you plan on doing either or both I would spend the extra cash to get a good set of birds.

Hi from the north coast of CA. I only have two chickens and three ducks for now. I think one of my chickens is a buff orpington and the other a silver laced wyandotte. The ducks are muscovys. They are all so cute
