I am a mother to 2 little girls, a teacher and a wife. We started a little hobby farm this year with 3 Nigerian dwarf goats and 10 chicks. We purchased a rainbow flock from Meyer hatchery in Polk so they are all different breeds. RIR, NHR, white legbar, barred rock, gold laced Wyandotte, buff Orpington, Lake Erie Egger
Black astralorpe and a partridge pendesenca.
me three!I am also from Ohio.
hello BYC!
I have been reading info on here since getting my chicks back in April and finally decided to join.

I have built all my chicken areas as they have outgrown them. I retrofitted the back half of a 12x12 building that was on our property when we moved in 2 years ago. It’s been a lot of fun so far and i have found my oldest daughter, 4, is a chicken whisperer. She can catch, hold and carry around any of the chickens she wants without any complaints from them.
welcome neighbor! wv chick here picking up my chicks the 16th from Meyers! our chickens are cousins!
My only problem is waiting for egg production to start!! They are about 10 weeks old now. Maybe a little older as i tend to loose a week here or there doing projects! ;-) I have considered many times adding some juvenile pullets to our flock just so i don’t have to wait.
Here is some pics of our coops and critters.
