Is there small easy cheaper coops?

At the very top of this page see "coop designs" - they are divided into small, med, & large - plenty for you to get ideas.

x2 you'll get more ideas from those pages then asking for pics on this thread

Ok, so plan for eight?
lol.png

lol i would plan for more than 8 once you see other varieties you will be like ooo i want one of those or a few of those oh i like these and so on and so fourth you see where im gettin to lol thats what happened to me haha i ended up with over 150 bantams of all different varieties and you always will want a male and a female of each one lol so i would plan for a good many maybe not as many as i ended up with. but you have to remember bantams are samller than normal size chickens they dont require as much space. you can fit twice as many bantams in a coop as you could full size chickens

*Yes, you're going to breed them, plan for more!

*Yes a run is like that.

*If you're going to breed some cochin batams later on then you need to plan for a place for them, doesn't have to be attached to the one you want.

-You'll want to separate the Roos so you can keep track of who the parents are (unless you don't care, then just put them in with the rest.)
wee.gif

-And you'll also want a place to keep brooding hens (unless you're hatching in an incubator.)
pop.gif
(When you want brooding hens; only put one roo in the Brooder's coop and (depending on how many you want brooding) several hens.)

-Get or make a coop with low boxes for the hens, maybe a low roost, and fence enough to separate the Brooders, Roos, and Hens (however, you'll want the runs attached to each-other so they can still see each-other.

) And make the bottom of the Brooder's coop & run chick-proof (aka if you have wide (or tall) holes in your fence like I do you'll have to put chicken-wire or such around the bottom.)

If you learn the requirements for chicken coops ( not drafty, waterproof, vents, perch, nest boxes which can be buckets you get for free, it depends on where you live if its really cold, or hot to make ajustments) then you can come up with one useing the materials that you have laying around.

Pics help to give ideas. I got my like 4 by 8 "dog house" for free from lejune yardsales. I'am still gathering up materils too.
