Hi- I am new to chickens and currently in the research and planning phase- currently we have zero chickens. We are moving to a new home outside of Baltimore the end of June where we will have a bigger yard and the ability to have chickens- there is already an older shed on the property and I need to check it out more and see if it's possible to turn it into a coop.
I have 4 kids ages 3-12 and they are very excited about chickens in our future. 3 out of the 4 of them want chickens that lay blue eggs while my oldest wants "her" chicken to lay white eggs.
I also love home improvements and design/decor (there will be a lot to do in our new home,) cooking (although I am getting sick of it now!)
We currently have one dog, a mixed breed with some Australian shepherd in her we think, who we adopted in September. I have been reading up on how to introduce her to our future flock.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Shed to coop conversions are the way to go. You can start looking at them in the Coop Articles.
I will be honest, I have zero idea the condition of the shed- we were so excited about a house with a garage and a basement and a large well finished attic, that the shed seemed unimportant, but now I am like is there a cement foundation? I need to know LOL
