In some states, like MO, it's illegal to relocate wild animals like coons and possums. They would prefer you to dispatch them and bury them.

I had no qualms about killing the possum that came onto my front porch last fall. Needless to say he got speared quite a few times and to finish him off my BF shot him to make sure he wasn't playing possum. I'll do it again in a heartbeat.
