Howdy guys and gals! It’s been a bit since I’ve stopped by and lurked through the forum!

I’ve gotten to know a few of you from before so I hope everyone is doing well!

My 6 girls (as in hens) are doing good! Almost a year old now! We made it through the arctic weather we had back at the beginning of the year with ZERO casualties! Luckily for me the previous owner of the house left several sheets of 4x8, 1/2in thick insulation board I cut to size and attached to the sides of the coop before the temps bottomed out in the single digits and stated there for all that time. They girls rarely left the coop, especially once the snow fell so I moved their food and water inside the coop. Egg laying came to a standstill for a couple weeks, as was to be expected. But no frost bite and they’re all doing good now! I haven’t done anything in the garden yet as it’s been too wet and cool here lately as I am beginning to see that all the other local farmers are holding off as well.

My oldest son is getting married Saturday so we’ve been busy with all that and with my wife being a RN she’s been busy at the hospital with all the COVID stuff from the beginning.

But it’s all good in my hood! Lol

Currently I’m dealing with a broody hen so seeing how this is my first go with one we will see how it will turn out! But she’s sweet and let’s me take her off the roost and hold her with out MUCH grumbling. Just growls at me and gives me the stank eye! Lol! But here’s a pic of her after me scooting her off the roost yesterday to gather eggs! I hope everyone is doing well!
