Hello my name is Brittany I am a new member and I found a small white oval one inch egg in the backyard and need to identify it Y'all's help

Shine a bright flashlight through the egg and see if you see movement. Chances are if you found it on the ground it is dead.

It could one of 100's of species of birds, but you really need to leave it alone.

I would have had it not been fell out a the pine in the back yard now all's I'm trin to do is get the little thing warmed up and hatched then realessed back into the wild

Try candle it (shine a light inside the egg in a dark room) and send pics

It has a white shell and song birds don't take long to hatch so I think you'll see something.

Hello, and welcome to BYC. Depending upon where you are located, it may very well be a Mourning Dove egg. Their nests are flimsy, and if you have had strong winds the nest may have been destroyed.
