We have 3 red and 2 black. We had 3 black, but unfortunately we lost one to a cat :( They are better protected now though.

I'm sorry about the loss of your Black Sex Link. I've had both, but currently only have the Blacks. While both varieties are egg laying machines, I actually prefer the Blacks a little as mine have been friendlier, and laid slightly better in really cold weather than my Reds.
 
Thank you. I would agree as far as the blacks being more friendly. We'll see how the egg laying goes. I can't wait for them to start.
