In the Brooder
Hi everyone! My name is Kaylin Hanselman and my husband, Michael, and I are brand new to chickens. We got our very first chicks on March 10th.
We purchased 6 chicks. We have two ISA Browns, two Buff Opringtons, one Amberlink, and one Black Sexlink. They are currently living in our spare bedroom in their brooder. Two at a time have been coming to school with me (I am a teacher) and the kids love it.
I am very much enjoying holding my chicks and spending time with them. They love to climb all over me! They are so entertaining and it is fun watching them grow.
I am a new wife, we got married June 30, 2018. We have a home on 39 acres so all of our animals live here with us. We have three dogs, two goats, two horses, and now six chicks.
I am a teacher by day and a cowgirl by night/weekends. I barrel race and it is my passion!
I have been learning all about chickens, coops, brooders on BYC for the past month. I love how informative this website is! I finally decided to join today
