Hello from Michigan! My chicks are now almost 16 weeks old and are thriving. I have 4 Rhode Island Reds, 3 Easter Eggers. 3 Silver Laced Wyandottes and 2 Black Stars (Black Sex-Links). I've been a lurker for months but wanted to jump into the group. I've learned so much from everyone here and am anxious to learn more.

Welcome to BYC, Tracy! Black Sex Links are my favorite chickens. They are friendly, calm, hardy, and give us lots of large, brown eggs. My granddaughter likes the Easter Eggers for their colored eggs. Good luck with your flock.

Welcome to the flock. Did you know there is an excellent state thread for Michigan? Go to "where am I, where are you," in the social forum - then locate & post on your state thread. You may find other chicken folks living near you.

Also the Learning Center has loads of information - it's a great place to start. Then branch out to forums that meet your needs/interests.
