Hello my name is Melinda I am married, for 16 years and have a 21 yr old son and 14 year old daughter. I live in the town I grew up In. I am a aminal lover and recuse the ones I can. I have recused dogs, cats usually a ys that need bottles. I have 2 dogs. Queensland healer sissy and my chihuahua moosie cause hi mama was 3 lbs and my moosie is 12 lbs. we have 6 cate, ittybitty 13 years, flea 12 yrs bob 12 yrs smokie 9 yrs jade 8 yrs and Shelley 2 yrs and a beared dragon named Ozzy and a cockatiel pretty bird. We are also fostering a 6 yr old poodle that was was starving to death due to massive infection in his mouth. We got his teeth out and a proper poodle do he is much better just needs weight now. I also have my chicks. My baby girls. My chicks are 15 months old. Diddle and sqat. They are my pets. Both lay eggs. They go outside during the day but come back in at nite and they have a cage in my room. My chicks are very spoiled. Everything has been fine until nite before last, just out of the blue they started fighting really bad. Squat is my beautiful hen, but diddles is my trouble maker if she an get into it she will. She believes she is a Rooster so had become the dominate but they have never fraught. If they are not in cage during the day then I am sitting in the yard and they run around and dust and are usually very happen as long as thy can see me when hey ate running free if thy cant they freak out. They are Dutch bantams so they are very small. But I don't understand the fighting. Th weird the g is I can put them to bed, shut their light off and cover the cage they don't fight. But the second I turn the light on one attacks the other. Yesterday diddles catches squat across the yard and jumped and got her comb and caused a bruised eye. Squat was crying and running to me to get away. So we separated them for a while held then and calmed them down but every time we put them together one attacks the other very violatly. What is going on and why at they all of. Sudden attacking each other? Please help?

Diddles is the greyer chick n squat is the brown one

Yes they are tiny. I had no idea what I had when if our them at th feed store with the rest of the chicks. I actually never saw a Dutch or old English bantams before we always had the normal size chickens.
I have been keeping the separated for the most part which is hard when I only have their in side cage and outside one so it is hard to keep them separated all the time squat has some stabbing on her comb, all superficial. I have checked her over very well.
But so far today seems ok. I am sitting in the yard with both running free and so far diddles has not tryed anything but chase. Hopefully they are over their disagreement.
Since they are both hens one looks and acts like a hen but the other has a build of a rooster and has always been more dominate. Could diddles be trying o breed squat? Thanks for the welcome and look forward to learning
