My name is Jamie, I live in Western Washington State. I have always loved birds, domestic and otherwise. Truly I am an animal nut. As my screen name says I'm a Dog Trainer and own my own training business.
I'm married and have a five month old daughter, our first child. Two years ago we bought a home with about 2.75 acres in order to grow my training business. I'm now on track to having an organic garden (first planting will be next year, I'm still in the planning stages). I finally talked my husband into letting us raise some chickens for eggs, but just recently we decided to raise for meat as well. We also want to raise some turkeys and possibly some ducks for the huge slug issue we have here..I digress.
I've lived on a farm in the past, we had chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese and peafowl. That was a long time ago though. A few years ago we got two turkeys as pets, both turned out to be Toms. I fell in love with them as pets, my oldest one died last year (due to a neighbors dog
