Hello,
My name is Larry, and I'm happy to join this community.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I'm new to chickens. My little family got chickens this spring and we are totally hooked!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 3 laying hens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
1 Red Isa and 2 White Plymouth
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I really enjoyed the process of getting to know my chickens. I never thought that I would care about them so much. I also very much enjoy the fact that it is multifaceted: it gets you to spend time outside, do some physical work, some problem solving, some building skills and a lot of creativity .
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I'm a gentleman farmer, so I'm slowly learning skills to become self-sufficient.Otherwise, I like reading, hiking, biking and fishing.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I live with my girlfriend and our son who is almost a year and a half. We have a husky and 3 cats. We live in Eastern Quebec (lots of snow).
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found out BYC on Google, last winter, when browsing for Coop plans and ideas. I joined because I felt like I should learn from passionate people with more experience. Also "Winter is coming" and I'd like to make sure that we are ready.
