Hi, I am a new owner of 5 chicks, 3 easter eggers and 2 golden comets. Hope to get more next spring and would like advise on the best way to integrate new chickens with the existing flock. Thanks

Hiya, and welcome to BYC!

We have a ton of articles and threads about methods of integration, but when the time comes you can just find the forum, Managing Your Flock, and post your situation and ask for advice.

I always use the "see but can't touch" method for a few weeks. I put my young (~6-7wk old) chickens in a dog kennel in the chicken run for that time period and once they are big enough to hold their own (~9-12wks old), I let them loose with the others and it has worked well. (They have a lot of space and plenty of places to hide and multiple places to get food and water.)
