Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I've had all of your breeds (although Black Stars are actually hybrids and not a breed), and you have some good, hardy, dependable birds. Black Star is one of several labels under which some hatcheries like Murray McMurray market their Black Sex Links, which are egg laying machines. I have raised them for years and they have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 eggs per hen per year. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. So much to learn and I'm loving it!! Thank you for the info . The original goal was to get some eggs and pets, but I had no idea how much I would fall in love!
