Hello New member over here

Okay, I'll so wander thru their web pages for spec's on the netting.....

That looks to be about 1/2-3/4" squares? The stuff I got was a brand name at Lowe's but when I was to get some -only available via ordering and a multi-week delay found the same exact brand and model on Amazon and got it in a few days. It was a roll ~100' long X 7' wide but, it's folded in half to be a 3 1/2' wide roll. That fold created an oddity for me as the pattern is skewed along the fold and that is the only issue compared to the massive struggle with 1/2" Hardware cloth...... Thank you.

Ok, he said he doesn't remember the size of the squares. He said the first time he purchased it wasn't the right size then he went back and got the right one. He said they come in big rolls and he only purchased 1 roll.

I truly understand the importance of the wire fencing, which comes in a roll, the size of the holes was too big and we had to go back 2 times or so to make sure the babies cant get through. It was trial and error..

Are you looking for bird netting? What you just described is bid netting. I bought a bunch of that stuff and it is hard to work with. I do like that you can get it in green. but I ordered this netting on Amazon and it is far superior, although the holes are larger. I'm trying to keep eagles out so the hole size wasn't the deciding factor. Anyway, just wanted to throw this into the mix for you to think about, depending on what you are using it for. I put it over the top of our chicken run. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GM76TW2/?tag=backy-20

I am preparing to "bird net" some of our 'inner small back yard' that our raised bed garden is in. The coop & run are next to this area. IF your curious, I did upload a graph paper picture "plan" showing a part of the small yard and it's fence -to the west of the coop & run. I plan to put a doggy door to let the chicks go between the run and the yard AND be hawk/owl safe.

Make sense?

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Not really, we first got our chickens about 2 years ago

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
8 chickens and 2 roosters

(3) What breeds do you have?

I don't know

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
My children enjoy having them around and I teach my sons responsibility and strength with them. FOr example, a type of crow got int he coup and my son was brave enough to go in the coup, grab it by the feet and carry him out. As for me that is another story lol

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening: growing veggies , cooking, hair, reading

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We reside in lithonia Georgia. My husband is a tree climber, he is a very handy guy who loves too build things, really great with his hands. The kids like video games and I am pretty much a stay at home mom, foer now that is.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
I was searching for rules and areas on being able to raise roosters and chickens

Welcome to BackYardChickens! So glad to have you here in our wonderful community of friendly, helpful, knowledgeable people!

It's okay. I think my previous reply should give You & Hubby a pretty good idea of what I'm headed towards.

Makes perfect sense. I hope you will look at the product I showed you. It comes in 50x50 and 50x25. It is far superior to the other stuff, and in the end it was much cheaper for me. Well, not really, since I bought both, but I paid less for it to cover the same area. So much easier to work with.

I bought some crappy netting several months ago. It wasn't what I thought it was. I used it anyway and an owl dove right through it. I have it on video. I recently bought different netting to replace the crappy netting.
I bought this and it is really heavy duty.
