Thanks everybody! Thanks for the info about the predators; I will sure look at that. We have learned a lot in the last few years. We do let them free range for a few hours a day in the afternoons, because they just love it so much, but we know that increases risks. We don't have a leash law here, but we've been able to work things out with the neighbors whose dogs will attack, and the loose dogs that don't bother the chickens (including our dog) help keep foxes, coyotes, and raccoons away.
