Hello all! I'll just jump right into it:

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am brand new to chickens!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We just (about 2 weeks ago) got three little Polish chicks approximately one month old, though one looks to be a week younger than the others. They're named Odette, Cookie (my son named her), and potentially Sansa. Hoping they are all future Hens!
(3) What breeds do you have?
Polish/Top-Hat
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Googling for info on chickens!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I'm a Librarian, so I love to read! I also enjoy painting, gardening, cooking, all things crafty...
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My husband is a Marine Corps vet, I have two kids under 5 and two dogs - a Lab and an Aussie. We live in Alabama currently but have moved around a bit.

I know it's too early to be certain, but I'm curious as to peoples' guesses as to whether we've got little Hens or Roos. Also curious as to what colors they'll turn out to be. Odette is the little yellow one. :)

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out.

Cute babies! :love If you would like to share more Pictures and Stories of them and/or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.
