Hello!
I am glad to find this community!
1) I am brand new to chicken raising. Our current flock is 14 weeks old
2) We have 13 chicks in our flock
3) Breeds - Well, that is part of the reason I am here is for help with that. I have done some research and believe we have 2 silkies, 2 sultans, 1 or 2 plymouth rock
4) I enjoy being with my flock and enjoying nature on our 35 open (non-fenced) acreage, I enjoy watching and helping my chicks catch and eat bugs.
5) Other hobbies are starting up gardening, firearms, starting a retreat center
6) We have a blended family. We have 6 kids, 1 dog and 13 chicks. I am currently a Software Engineer, but looking to start a retreat center. I live in Texas on a big rocky hill.
7) I was researching about sexing chicks and found the BYC community, so I am brand new to y'all!
