HELLO! newbie from northern WI here!

Hi everyone! I am soooo grateful I found this site! I need all the help you knowledgeable people are willing to share so I can keep healthy, happy chickens in our less than ideal climate. I also hope to be able to share a bit of my own tips and knowledge in return. I am a master gardener and have been successfully gardening organically in the snow belt for many years.

We are working hard on our coop and hope to be ready to get our chickens within a week or so. We are looking for pullets or maybe slightly older laying hens if anyone has any ideas for a source for us.

Our local feed store sells laying hens, so perhaps you could check out any places near you.
Have you looked at BYC's sister sites? There's one on gardening too!

Hello northern Michigan!
are you a "U"per or below the bridge? I was born in Michigan (much lower~Pontiac area) but my grandmother had her farm near Petosky. Been away from chickees for many, MANY years

but working my poor "retired" hubby hard getting the coop ready. Thank you for your shout out and please, please let me pick your brain, ok?
