We have 4 children who attend forest school in the Chattanooga Tennessee area. We have a 2 year old Goldendoodle. About a year ago we bought 11 acres of land - our long term dreams: have a little self sustaining homestead. The last year we have been busy land clearing and researching all the “how-to’s”

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
We are looking for any and all advice and help we can get to further our knowledge in all the areas- I simply typed in “raising chickens” in my App Store and found this app! :)

Welcome what an adventure you guys have been on.
This a great place to learn about raising chickens.
I'm so happy you included chickens in your homestead. And kiddos will LOVE chicks once they're a little older. Hint... hand feed them and get them used to you , that will help for later on if you need to inspect them.
Small amounts of scrambled eggs are a good treat once they're 6 weeks old .
Sounds like you picked some good breeds.
