Hello;
My name is Chris and I am new to this group. I have been thinking about getting some chickens for a while now, though the wife is not so sure.
This may be changing though, as last night we went over to her cousins for our monthly visit and they were talking about getting some chickens and did we want a few?
Her daughter and her husband have just gotten around 6 birds, and so they were thinking about getting some too. Cherry something or other? We are probably going to dive in too, starting with maybe 3 or 4 birds. I am now researching coops, and could really use some help design wise. I am a carpenter, so should be piece of cake for construction. Just want to make sure it's safe, as we have lots of raccoons and possums around here (Kent, Wa). Thanks again for the warm welcomes, and look forward to learning a lot from the group.

I started with just 4 like a month ago and now I am at 11 and counting! I just can't get enough! You and your wife will fall in love quick! Hi Chris...I like what you've done since your first post with your BYC page. Glad you joined BYC, you won't be disappointed. Everyone here is very helpful and many have years upon years of experience with chickens. See ya soon, when my dad gets back, maybe sometime we could come over and see your chickens too...not just you coming here.
