hello, i am newer to raising chickens. i recently moved in with my grandparents as well as a few aunts and uncles and took over caring for the chickens. we have a mixed flock of 24 mostly laying chickens we are only getting 9-14 eggs a day, 1 rooster and 8 chicks 4 leghorns and 4 Americana's. i think one of the Americana chicks will be a rooster it is growing a lot faster then the others. (but then again i have never raised chicks so i don't really know.) we also have a Americana chick with a cross beak. most of our older chickens have been around for 2-3+ years. half the year the chickens are free ranged late fall-to planting season, unless she is a leghorn then she gets out whenever she wants.

Welcome to BYC!

Sorry about your cross beak. With enough supportive care, they can live happy lives. Definitely follow the link that Sumi has provided for some helpful tips on keeping your cross beak happy.

Enjoy this new adventure you are on and welcome to our flock!

Welcome to BYC - that cross beak is not too bad. Sometimes they become worse as the bird grows - sometimes they don't. Good luck.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Good luck with your flock! You've gotten some good advice on finding info to help your cross beak, she doesn't look that bad right now, hopefully she won't get any worse.
