HELLO - NO REPLIES ARE MY QUESTIONS DUMB OR DID I DO THIS WRONG ?

I wouldn't put a huge roo with a tiny hen. Too rough on the hen, those big boys can squash them, or cause a serious injury. I'm not sure a banty roo could reach the right spot with a big Brahma hen, either.

I gather my eggs daily, twice a day when it's really hot, or I have broodies.

Never trimmed a chicken nail in my life, mine are all free-range, they scratch around a lot and wear them down.

You'd like even an "I don't know"? Just shows how folks are different. If I see somebody has replied to a question I posted, and all they said was, "I don't know", I wonder why they posted it. I mean, it's ok that they did, but why post if you have nothing constructive to say? I have dial up, so everything moves slower. It can be annoying to click on the post, wait for it load, just to read "I don't know." If I see 0 replies, I don't spend time looking. But it's not a big deal either way.

Also, if you post on a busy section, like this one, your post can vanish pretty quickly, before a lot of folks have a chance to see it. So it's not anything personal, I'm sure. It just happens, sometimes.

I agree do not put a big standard roo with smaller chickens such as a bantam. He will hurt them I learn the hard way and lost one of my hens. I was fast in removing the big roo and placing him in a home of hens his size. Funny thing is now the hens are beating him up. Has anyone ever heard of hens attacking the roo???

I have left some eggs in their nests for a couple of days and they just keep laying. I put dots on them so I know which day they were laid. I wanted to experiment. I usually collect them every day.

I have figured out when my hens lay and I usually take the eggs out right away, to deter predators. In the heat of the summer I didn't leave them out any longer than an hour or two.
