Hello, Not all Los Angeles is Hollywood! Trying to raise chicks from Fertile Eggs in LA LA Land

Welcome to BYC :frow
My first ever hatch was duck eggs done in a tin coffee can on top of a heat vent in the winter! I hatched 2 of 3...but it was horribly stressful! Of course thats when I found BYC.
Im not sure how much you know about keeping chickens so im gonna throw out stuff of the top of my head. Outside of a reliable incubator ( and lots of reading up on hatching temps, humidity, etc), you will need a complete brooder set up & waiting, food, light, bedding, electrolites for the water, and an emergency kit in case the unexpected happens during hatch. Also a coop ready because they grow up fast. Oh, and buy eggs of breeds best suited to your climate and conditions ( always cooped, free range, etc)
Very important: You need to include us on your journey! We love going along on hatches, giving advice, ooooooing over new chicks, and comforting in times when things dont go as planned.
Best wishes on your adventure.
