Once the birds reach maturity, they molt annually in the fall. It's takes many weeks.
Right. But I have junior birds that just went through their first winter. And some breeds go through twice a year a molting. I think I have one of those because no one else has been losing feathers. Just the one yellow/black chicken. Thank you for your reply.

Have you checked her over for lice? Checked your roosts for mites? Sometimes one bird gets infested faster/ worse than others.

I checked the sleepy chicken, i couldnt see anything, but i will try to look again tomorrow. she kept getting fussy and trying to walk away. I will try to get someone to hold her tomorrow while i look. She had a normal looking egg today with no blood. But another chicken had blood on her egg. I think i have a cannabalism issue, and dont know how to stop it.
