hello there from NH

I checked the sleepy chicken, i couldnt see anything, but i will try to look again tomorrow. she kept getting fussy and trying to walk away. I will try to get someone to hold her tomorrow while i look. She had a normal looking egg today with no blood. But another chicken had blood on her egg. I think i have a cannabalism issue, and dont know how to stop it.
Occasionally I have one that has blood on an egg. If its an option, you may try putting a camera in your coop to see what's going on.

I will try that. We have a trail camera. We haven't set it up yet. We got it to identify and track the predators trying to hurt our chickens. Struggling with the device setup. In the mean time, do I just put no-cannibalism-goo on all their butts? I will check the birds for lice again, but I couldn't see anything tonight. I feel frustrated. Can chickens get a taste for cannibalism and just keep going at her sisters for fresh blood?

I've never dealt with this problem, however I've heard that it usually starts with boredom or lack of space. Once they start pecking, others may join in.
Putting no pick on them may help. I'll have to defer to someone who knows more about this subject.

Welcome to BYC, Glad to meet you! Best wishes with your sleepy hen. Enjoy those birds!
