Hi,

My name is Alice, and we live near Gentry, TN.

Last fall, we purchased our chicks, 40 Black Copper Marans, 25 Bresse chickens from Barrett Valley, and 12 Muscovy Ducks from an Amish fellow in PA. (The internet is awesome!)

We are using moveable chicken tractors for pastured poultry.

We think the Bresse are perfect for grass, as they are bred for it.

My Bresse chickens are just starting to lay about 8-9 eggs a day. We filled up our incubator this week, and I am working with a friend that has a large refrigerator size incubator.

I am looking to build a market for the Bresse chickens in the Nashville area, starting the Fall of 2014. I have found the French Standards for raising these birds, and it is not easy to follow them all.

Has anyone ever sold Bresse chickens to the public? How do you educate people on Bresse chickens? Perhaps some high-end chefs might be interested.

Have a great day.
